Las Vegas and the State of Nevada have layed the foundation for NFL Football in the City of Entertainment; and that foundation has taken another big step.
Oakland Raiders Owner, Mark Davis, has officially filed their intention to relocate the Raiders to Las Vegas. The National Football lague has confirmed the notification; and will be reviewing the application in the next few weeks.
The NFL has released the following statement:
"The Oakland Raiders submitted an application to relocate their franchise to Las Vegas, as is provided for under the NFL Policy and Procedures for Proposed Franchise Relocations,” the league said in a statement. “The application will be reviewed in the coming weeks by league staff and the Stadium and Finance Committees.
“The relocation of a franchise requires the affirmative vote of three-quarters of the NFL clubs (24 of 32).”
Once all the final presentations and paperwork have been accepted, NFL Owners can vote on the move at any time. The vote at the moment is expected to take place during a League Meeting in Phoenix from March 26th through the 29th.
